ABSTRACT
The historicist underpinnings of modern biblical scholarship have taken some hard hits in recent years. In this study I attempt to explore how recent theoretical work in various fields (anthropology, philosophy, literary criticism, historiography) impinge upon a renewed historical-critical method in biblical scholarship.
