ABSTRACT
In previous chapters we remarked occasionally on the text-critical dimension of linguistic research on the Hebrew Bible.1 Our argument is that efforts to date biblical texts should take a holistic approach-one that gives consideration to literary and textual aspects of these texts in addition to their linguistic data. In this chapter we will develop the view that study of language change in BH is inseparable from research on the literary and textual facets of biblical texts.
