ABSTRACT

The LADY’S MONTHLY MUSEUM; or Polite Repository of Amusement and Instruction was a fashionable magazine that began under that title in 1798. Just before the end of the second series (1814), the title shifted from the generic singular to Ladies’ Monthly Museum, continuing that title through the third series (1815–1828). In the fourth and fifth series (1829–1832), the title contracted to Ladies’ Museum before it merged in 1832 with Lady’s Magazine.
