ABSTRACT

Shelley, Queen Mab (1821 piracy); Literary Gazette, May 19, 1821, pp. 305–308. An important biographical allusion in the second column refers to Harriet Shelley’s suicide in 1816 and revives the rumors that she sank to prostitution before her death. The reviewer has made a careful study of Shelley’s works — certainly of the Alastor volume — and shows a genuine respect for Shelley’s genius while decrying his morals. No. 226.
