ABSTRACT
The INDICATOR was a weekly literary “little magazine” of the day, begun by Leigh Hunt in October 1819 and, after seventy-six numbers, suspended by him on March 21, 1821, to be taken up and written through number 100 by an unknown author (through August 1821). Joseph Appleyard, the first “publisher,” was an employee of the Examiner.
