ABSTRACT

Godwin, Memoirs of [Mary Wollstonecraft] (1798); Analytical Review, XXVII (March 1798), 235-240. The reviewer, obviously an admirer of Mary Wollstonecraft (and probably a member of her circle), meets head-on the principal criticisms of her character and behavior. At the same time, the reviewer shows great interest in the intellectual life of Mary Wollstonecraft and is concerned with her ideas and writings as much as with her personality.
