ABSTRACT

Shelley, The Cenci (1819); Edinburgh Monthly Review, III (May 1820), 591–604. The reviewer assumes Shelley’s genius and apparently is familiar with at least Atastor and probably with The Revolt of Islam (pp. 592–593). Though he reads appreciatively, however, the reviewer does not always read attentively, for he errs in thinking Camillo to be the Pope’s nephew (p. 594).
