[Byron] Beppo (1818); Monthly Review, 2nd Series, LXXXV (March 1818), 285–290. Byron’s identity seems to have escaped detection by this reviewer. And the Monthly avoids the political issues raised in Byron’s verse to comment on strictly literary conventions.
