Byron, The Corsair (1814); Gentleman’s Magazine, LXXXIV-i (Feb. 1814), 154. The reviewer points out Byron’s borrowing of an important plot device from Sheridan’s adaptation of Kotzebue’s Pizarro (1799). Note the final compliment to Thomas Moore, “a gentleman of talents.”
