ABSTRACT

Byron, Werner (1823), Harriet Lee, Kruitzner (5th edition, 1823); British Critic, 2nd Series, XIX (March 1823), 242-253. William Cobbett, once an anti-jacobin journalist, had as editor of the Political Register become the most influential of the radical journalists with a working-class following. It seems almost impossible, but the reviewer has mistaken the title of Miss Lee’s novel, Kruitzner rather than Ruitzner being correct.
