ABSTRACT

The BRITISH MAGAZINE; or Monthly Magazine of Polite Literature, comprehending an Analysis of Modern Publications with Extracts is distinguished by its subtitle and date of publication from eight other short-lived periodicals entitled British Magazine that existed sometime between 1800 and 1832. The present journal was a London monthly that published one volume from March through August 1823. The key word in the subtitle would seem to be “Extracts,” for the reviews of Byron that are included here are mainly selections from the volumes under review.
