ABSTRACT
The chapter investigates coverage of a flashpoint in Beit Hanoun to determine whether the broadcasters represent the conflict through the eyes of one party to the detriment of the other. It asks whether potential imbalances arise because the events are viewed in association with the war on terror or because they are connected to historical relations of the reporting country with that party. The chapter begins exploring the broadcasters’ humanitarian portrayal of the conflict.
