ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on coverage of the Gaza War 2014 and on shifts in the way the protagonists are portrayed, the extent to which geopolitical blocs are represented in the reports and whether there are noticeable changes in narratives since 2006-08. The chapter discusses coverage of the bombings of UN schools, demonstrations in Paris and coverage of victims. By also examining the running order, airtime and subject matter allocated to coverage of the 2014 war, the chapter also analyses changes in value, over time, attached by the broadcasters to this conflict.
