ABSTRACT
This chapter treats causes as difference makers, with emphasis on the role of counterfactuals in causal inference. It covers Mill's method of difference and agreement but focuses on the distinction between causation and statistical correlation, and the variety of methodologies that can be used to eliminate confounds.
