ABSTRACT

Bodily communication includes how artists use movements on stage, how we communicate attitudes to others, or how we influence or persuade people to believe us. The chapter explores how aware we are and how intention were we in the use of various body cues. The three body codes are arbitrary, iconic, and intrinsic. Types of body cues include emblems, illustrators, affect displays, regulators, and adaptors.Gestures and postures are powerful forms of bodily communication. Body functions include attitude, psychology, emotions, and relational information.
