Germany’s Balkan policy

The German secretary for foreign affairs, von Jagow, explained (on 18 July) to the ambassador in London the reasons for Germany’s policy in the July crisis. Lichnowsky had been critical of Germany’s policy of supporting Austria-Hungary.
