ABSTRACT
The two projects described at the outset of this book
as an introduction to the work – a staircase, and a
new piece of city – stake out the span of a working
territory which is sustained through the œuvre
of the practice: on the one hand, incrementally
adjusting or intervening within existing buildings
in urban centres, while on the other hand, making
propositions at a strategic scale around the margins
of cities and towns.
