ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 introduces contextual supervision and what differentiates this model of supervision from other systemic theories of supervision. We describe the role of the supervisor in calling attention to issues of fairness, loyalty, and trustworthiness that often arise in individual and relational therapy. We explore ways in which the contextual framework can be used to support self-of-the-therapist work for clinicians. Finally, we describe how to apply contextual supervision concepts in multidisciplinary education and professional settings related to healthcare.
