ABSTRACT
Brazil is the largest country in South America. Its interior is dominated by rainforests and the second longest river in the world, the Amazon, which has a greater volume of water flow than the Nile (Egypt), Mississippi (United States), Yangtze (China), and several other great rivers combined. Indigenous culture persists in the Amazon rainforests, while descendants of European (Portuguese) and African populations dominate the coastal cities.
