ABSTRACT

Some family justice system reforms have implemented the unified family court model, the ecology of human development, and therapeutic jurisprudence. Chapter 5 asserts that an even more comprehensive and deliberate project is necessary to realize fully the potential for family courts to perform optimally. The ethic of care principle, grounded in narrative practice, can transform the family justice system into a place that demonstrates it truly has value for those it serves. This chapter proposes the means by which all of these doctrines can combine to restructure the family justice system.
