ABSTRACT
The enormous cultural impact of The Sound of Music cannot be underestimated and, it has altered entertainment formats, the role of children in musicals, the way in which the von Trapp family is remembered, the way in which movie versions influence stage musicals and the cultural history of both Austria and the Middle East.
