ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book aims to develope a realist sociological approach to the study of electoral management – and electoral institutions in general. Electoral management governance networks were therefore defined as the constellation of actors involved in steering and delivering elections, including the micro anthropological practices, beliefs and power relationships between them. The book introduces a new framework for assessing electoral management: the PROSeS framework. It is concerned with the new PROSeS model to Canada and the United Kingdom to reveal many similarities in levels of performance. The book provides new founding concepts and frameworks, and new insights about how they can be improved worldwide. Borrowing from theories of public sector management, a new framework is set out that can inform future academic research and practice.
