ABSTRACT

This chapter is about the role of the group coordinator as manager of group programming and group culture in the counseling center. Applying both economic and developmental principles to the task of group coordination, the chapter takes the reader through a series of steps of intervention for the full range of clinic settings. Starting with the situation where there are no groups running and working up through growing and then thriving group programs the stage model of group program leadership offers group coordinators a model from which to apply these principles in their practice setting.
