ABSTRACT

In the chapter “Do you require inspiration just to breathe?” Elena presents us with a poetic narrative, beginning in Grundlsee, and then reviewing the lively, completely captivating story of how she met Edith, from the first excitement of discovering her Art as Therapy with Children in the Leningrad library, to actually visiting her in New York City. Eventually, they became friends and met fairly often over the years. The narrative brings us back to Grundlsee and Elena’s last visit with Edith. For those of us who didn’t have the opportunity to find closure with that relationship, this chapter is perfect in its poetic ability to help us integrate and accept our loss.
