ABSTRACT

In a global context of social, economic, and environmental fragility, and with declining of public trust in business and government (Edelman 2015, 86), leadership wisdom seems an essential requirement for our times. Yet, in practice, it is surprisingly rare. The focus of leaders has been overwhelmingly on the acquisition of knowledge; wisdom has not been a focus. The purpose of this chapter is to illuminate a process of emergent learning through which practical wisdom can be cultivated.
