ABSTRACT

Policy is the tool that can bring some effect to public will, so we will examine policy at both the international and domestic levels. In our aviation context, we have to talk about policy development in terms that everyone can understand, and how we might best proceed toward the specific goal of producing jet fuel in sustainable ways. Since we are discussing the matter of long-term evolution to ideal solutions, we have to consider aviation's total flight effect. The energy intensity of flight will drop substantially as the system gets progressively more efficient; airplane design is more functional every day, operational procedure become more streamlined. If we build social, economic, and political commitment to a specific energy option that, while offering immediate improvement, can never become truly sustainable on all the sustainability fronts. Beyond development, specifically, every other thing that we have seen as constituting a relevant factor in social justice, environmental, or economic terms must be addressed by policy.
