ABSTRACT

In this book, I have been exploring the idea that human beings survive the death of their physical bodies and continue their lives, in company or communion with others, as embodied beings in some kind of afterworld. If there were an afterlife in another world, or a series of afterlives in other worlds or even in this world, then our finite earthly lives would not be the measure of our complete history. Our identities would be older and larger than we could possibly now imagine. As for the future of humankind, this would extend far beyond the limits defined by our collective history here on earth, however long this might last.
