ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the actions taken by Polish farmers in the realm of agricultural tourism, especially the commercial aspects of this form of tourism. The role of innovation is analyzed, as are various aspects of family business operations and local business operations. The chapter is largely based on survey research conducted in early 2012, with the participants being Polish agricultural tourism enterprises. The questionnaires were sent to 1,326 agricultural businesses all over Poland. Finally 46 agriculture enterprises took part in the questionnaire survey. Another key part of the chapter consists of a case study of Na Zagrodzie Tourist Farm located near the village of Lubień in Małopolska Province (Polish: Voivodeship). Other tourist farms are also discussed in the chapter.
