ABSTRACT

Once the EPC contract has outlined the paradigm under which the parties are operating-that it is their intent that the EPC contractor work in accordance with prudent industry practices to construct a reliable facility that meets the sponsor’s requirements-it is necessary to elaborate on the work more specifically. While it is the general idea that the EPC contractor will furnish everything necessary to complete the facility whether or not an item is expressly specified in the EPC contract, the EPC contractor will need guidance in terms of the sponsor’s expectations as to how the work will be performed and how it expects its facility to function.
