ABSTRACT

In May 2014, Copenhagen was the host of the Eurovision song contest, an international singing competition held since 1956 with competitors from 37 countries and 170 million television viewers globally. To organise this mega event, a holding company was established by Wonderful Copenhagen, the destination marketing organization of Copenhagen, in order to pool resources with the Copenhagen Municipality, the capital region of Denmark and the real estate company owning the former shipyard, where Eurovision was set to take place.
