ABSTRACT
From Barcelona we rode to Perpian [Perpignan]. It is a fine and strong town in which a great trade is carried on. A count was residing there. He invited my lord to his house and showed him great honour. On the way we saw in a church chains and other relics. If anyone is afflicted and is bound with these chains he recovers. 1
