ABSTRACT
Alliance Best Practice suggests that the competencies of a good strategic alliance manager (SAM) are closely linked to the common success factors of successful strategic alliances. We in ABP believe that an effective SAM needs to be adept in the following three areas:
knowledge of alliance best practices and ability to put them into action;
personal skills and capability;
personal collaborative behaviours and values.
