ABSTRACT

The early morning sun was very bright as Victor Tong got in his car heading toward his early morning tennis match. Victor always played tennis very early on Saturday mornings to make sure that he and his partner got the best court, and in order to beat the heat of the hot summer days in Atlanta, Georgia. As the clock turned to eight in the morning, Victor listened to the news in his car. Victor had recently purchased satellite radio for his car, as he really enjoyed listening to the news back home in his native China. He was previously only able to catch up with the happenings back home via the internet, and based on his membership in the local Chinese American club in Atlanta. As he listened to the news, Victor noticed that there were very few people on the roads so early in the morning. As he drove his car down Piedmont Road, he passed the Tech Now store, which sold home electronics and other appliances. “Wow!” thought Victor as he passed by the immense retail location. “Just look at all of those people lined up outside of the store”. Victor remembered from a recent trip that the store did not open until nine in the morning on Saturdays. He wondered why people would be lining up a full hour before the store opened, and on a Saturday morning of all days.
