ABSTRACT

By nightfall it appeared that the disorderly conduct of the seamen and other lower deck men on both corvettes had completely subsided. At the dawn muster only two seamen of our corvette’s complement were missing. The Atrevida, as I was advised by her commanding officer through an officer, was still short of six seamen and their default appeared all the worse since they were the very ones who had recently been transferred from the frigate Liebre after having willingly consented to the transfer.
