ABSTRACT

Although this idea seems to be similar to a manager having an open door policy, it is actually intended to be contrasted with it. Yes, a manager may have an open door policy, but unless you go in and they are there, you don’t see them. With Management By Walking About, or, Managing By Wandering Around (MBWA) they come to you. The idea is to have managers out and about in the workplace, so their presence is felt and they maintain contact with the workforce.
