ABSTRACT

Studying the evolution of the EU development policy cuts across multiple, interconnected dimensions, that are empirical, analytical as well as theoretical in nature: the peculiarity of the Union’s ‘external action’, the relation between internal and external incentives (and particularly the interplay between the Union and its ‘significant others’ in that policy area), the balance between material and non material factors, rational and non rational logics, involved in these processes across time. 1
