ABSTRACT

Manager Jewerl Ross provided his perspective about breaking new writers in the market: People talk a lot about how hard it is to break into the business. Perhaps one of the reasons that screenwriters who are seeking to break into the industry set their sights on television now more than ever before—outside of the abundance of jobs available in the space—is the reality that while film was always considered a director's medium, in television writer is king. Another truism is that today's screenwriters, whether they are trying to break into the feature or television market, are underserved by the available information out there regarding what it really takes, TODAY, to break into the industry. A career screenwriter is one who can generate high caliber work at a regular clip again and again. As our career progresses, they will find more out-of-brand opportunities for their craft.
