ABSTRACT
When there are a series of facts that need explaining, then any number of solutions can present themselves – these are called hypotheses. Any particular hypothesis has to be tested in every circumstance, under all conditions, and if it still holds up even in extreme conditions, then it stops being a hypothesis and is called a theory.
