ABSTRACT

In the twenty-first century, aviation went through significant changes in terms of availability, affordability and the most visible factor: connectivity. Air transportation has become easily accessible in the developed parts of the world thanks to the liberalization of the entire market between the 1970s and 1990s. Transportation has always been one of the leading research topics in geography. Maritime transport, the most important mode of transportation before the Industrial Age, has greatly declined in dominance. Mass demand for transport was first satisfied by ship transport, which together with road transport formed the only modes of transportation. Rail transport is a key inland means of transportation. A major improvement in battery capacity could quickly lead to the revision of previous forecasts for EV stocks. The range of technological and organisational solutions for the management of urban mobility systems and improvement of their sustainability is quickly expanding due to the rapid development of information and communication technologies.
