ABSTRACT

The goal of the workstation is for students to have many opportunities to work with place value. This chapter shows several different types of activities to put at the place value workstation. For work specifically on expanded form, students can work with the place value cups or flags. Students should have some sort of manipulative for place value. Place value cups are easy and great. Place value mats with pictures are important because they provide a graphic organizer for students to see the numbers in a different way.
