ABSTRACT

Correctly completing the forms associated with inspection and testing activities is an essential part of being competent. The forms essentially break down into two sets, those used for initial verification and those used for periodic inspection and testing. The initial verification forms include Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), schedule(s) of inspections, and schedule(s) of test results or minor electrical installation works certificate. The periodic inspection and testing forms include Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), schedule(s) of inspections, and schedule(s) of test results. Typically, for new installations, the addition of a new circuit or the replacement of a distribution board, the person performing the initial verification will complete an electrical installation certificate, at least one schedule of inspections and at least one schedule of test results. Alternately, the person performing the inspection and testing may opt for an electrical installation certificate, schedule of inspection and a schedule of test results instead.
