ABSTRACT
The diary and the letter re-present fragments building into a life or narrative of the self. Many novels of the nineteenth century also existed as fragmented or unfolding narrative as part of their publication process.This chapter therefore investigates the intersection between the serialized novel and the serialized life characterized by the diary.In the process,womena rediscussed as both readers and writers of diary narrative.
