ABSTRACT

This book has been devoted thus far to critically analyzing the present social and environmental conditions that characterize today’s society. It has critiqued the primacy of the market and laid bare its shortcomings in attending to the well-being of the public and recommended a foundation for building a new social contract based on an altered set of fundamental values. It stressed the importance of the social policy community as an appropriate vehicle for implementing the social change necessary to assist humanity through this next great social transformation. To complete this discussion, it is important to examine some of the possibilities for moving this project forward.
