ABSTRACT

Feelings are shared. The environment is safe and supportive, feelings are acknowledged and support given. The community become aware of other’s needs.

(Costell et al., 2009)

The Foundation Stage pupils will discuss feelings and develop an understanding of the consequences of their actions. Older children will build their community by setting their expectations for conduct by fellow class members. This will be followed by decisions about learning, i.e. what topics will be covered, the key questions to be answered, how they will learn in order to give ownership to their learning.
