ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents an overview of key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book attempts at glocal-comparative analysis of network newswork finds relevance as an empirical, a methodological, and also a theoretical contribution to the emerging "global comparative turn in journalism studies". It's interpretative approach towards news practice in Malaysia addresses the large gap in literature left by critical and political-economy perspectives that dominate scholarly discourse on Malaysian media. This book's network-driven chain referral strategy will prove useful to future researchers needing to gain access into elite media organizations to recruit their expert media professionals to participate in scholarly studies. It's focus on network newswork in conventional news production environments finds relevance in scholarship's attempt at gaining a better understanding of journalism in a networked media ecology.
