ABSTRACT

The interaction between natural energy (physical) and life's energy (human in our case) then is the chief principle of emergence. This chapter looks at the integral approach to the BRICS, starting with the integral realities, before it turns to the integral rhythm, in which emergence plays a key part. The purpose of transformation through a co-creative process is to sustain a future in which resources become available to as wide a base as possible, and diverse units of local life work with a common global principle to sustain life as a whole. In particular, a culture acquires global integrity, with a view to pursuing integral advantage, when each of the layers are both differentiated, analytically, and dynamically integrated, so to speak. Horizontal integrity emerges, when there is purposeful co-creation between diverse worldviews or realities at each horizontal level of the topography, through so-called 'transculturation' as we shall see, in mestizo Brazil.
