ABSTRACT

Peter, as we’ve discussed I’m going to be exploring a very specific theme in this short piece. I want to look at particular understandings of praxis in the world, in China, in a particularly fertile period in that country’s history – from around the fourth century Before the Common Era (BCE) to the end of the 1st millennium of the Common Era (CE), a period of some 1400 years. And to ask, and see, what that may tell us about ‘soulful practice’ – and I would emphasise practice – today.
