ABSTRACT

The aim of Training Environment Analysis is to produce a specification for a training environment that will support all aspects of task execution identified in the Team/Collective Task Analysis. Training Environment Analysis produces a consolidated representation of these elements diagrammatically, and adds supporting detail about the precise fidelity requirements for each element. The Training Environment Diagram provides an overview of all of the key features of the environment. The descriptions of sub-task inputs, outputs and the dynamic variables affecting each sub-task, captured in the task description table, provide the information source for identifying the sensors, effectors and information system interfaces and the dynamic properties of the elements in the environment. The Training Environment Diagram provides a visual representation of the required elements in the training environment and the interactions between them. It is constructed in layers which reflect the layers in the training environment model and uses the same box and arrow notations.
