ABSTRACT

The aim of Training Overlay Analysis is to produce a training overlay specification, against which training options can be developed. The training strategy defines how training is to be conducted. If it is not already defined as an input to the Team and Collective Training Needs Analysis (TCTNA) as an assumption then it has to be developed as part of the TCTNA process. The strategy has to take account of all of the constraints, assumptions, risks and opportunities that have been identified in the constraints, assumptions, risks, and opportunities Analysis. Having established what tasks are to be trained, training objectives can be developed for each component of training. Training objectives are derived from the Task Description Tables developed in the Team/Collective Task Analysis. The training strategy needs to define how training is to be structured. In the simplest case, the whole team or collective organisation would conduct all of its training together in one environment in the same training event.
