ABSTRACT

Team/Collective Task Analysis fits into the Team and Collective Training Needs Analysis process sequence. In an ideal situation the task scope and the training audience will be clearly defined at the Project Initiation stage and serve as inputs to this analysis stage. At the early stages of the development of a new capability this clarity may not have been achieved and will only become clear through the detailed task analysis process. The Team/Collective Task Analysis is the foundation upon which the remainder of the analyses are built. It is of critical importance because any errors or omissions which occur at this stage propagate through the rest of the process and are likely to result in a training solution being developed which cannot deliver effective training. The outputs from Team/Collective Task Analysis feed into Training Environment Analysis, Training Overlay Analysis and Constraints, Assumptions, Risks and Opportunities Analysis.
